Detailed Steel Wall Panel Description
Truss Wall framing are generally prefabricated in lengths up to 17m max, for
ease of transport and site handling.
They are placed in position, aligned, squared and leveled and fixed through
the bottom plate and at corner junctions. Methods of framing vary among
manufacture and local practices but the following parts are generally present:
a) Floor joist / bearer frame
b) Studs
c) Noggin and bracing
d) Lintel or beam
e) Trusses
After delivery to site, frames are erected in similar manner to timber frames. Typical fixings include bolts,
self - drilling screw, rivets, expanding masonry anchors or power - driven nails
and are dependent upon the system used or requirements of local
government authorities or engineers. Most joints should
be designed to occur of panels is simplified and firm joint can be made.
Panel of wall framing may be joined together on site by either bolting or
screwing, depending on joining equipment available.
