Ametryn has the following uses:
a) For pre- and post - emergence control of most annual grasses and
broad - leaved weeds found among plantations of pineapples, bananas, sugar
cane, citrus fruits, cassava, maize, coffee, sisal, tea,
cocoa, and oil palms.
b) Phytotoxicity: Some sugar cane varieties show temporary chlorosis
or scorching of lower leaves.
This product is a selective systemic herbicide that is absorbed
principally through a plant's leaves and roots, with translocation
acropetally in the xylem, and accumulation in the apical meristems. It can also be used on non - cultivated land.
